Don't rain on my parade!

I had the pleasure of meeting Emma and Dean at a local wedding fair in 2009. After a lovely first meeting at Dean's parents in Normandy,Surrey they decided to book Blush...and the rest is history!

Emma and Dean met in 2003 and in 2006 their beautiful son Joel was born.

Emma was desperate for Dean to become her husband and on a romantic weekend away in somerset he proposed....well done Dean!

After deciding on a date for their big day Emma and Dean sent out a handy fridge magnet alternative to save the date cards.....the 2nd of May 2010 was booked!

The venue was next...Dean's parents had recently bought a farm house near Normandy in Surrey and this was the perfect setting for the happy couples wedding.

Emma had always dreamt of a marquee and the farm was ideal for this.....especially with the stunning blue bell wood surrounding it and the Surrey countryside...frankly it would have been rude not to use it!

Months later......

The 1st of May 2010 saw the family farm transform into a hive of wedding activity...the weather was dry if a little overcast...so with the promise of sun... by the damn BBC... the outside preparations continued. They had decided on an outside ceremony in front of the farm house and then afternoon tea in a smaller tent, followed by the wedding breakfast in the larger marquee.

Emma's Dad had constructed the most beautiful willow arch I think I have ever seen for the couple to be married under and I had the pleasure of decorating it with pink roses and ivy.

The wedding day....

The 2nd of May 2010 arrived and so did the rain!
My heart sank as I looked out of my window.....it was not only wet but cold, windy and it felt like winter again! it had set in to last all day too!! So I did what all good florists do in a time like this and donned my wellies, then packed up the Blush van ready for the farm!

The farm was like a lake....but everyone was still so high spirited which is what I loved about this family!

Meanwhile Emma was enjoying a well deserved pampering at the Aviator hotel in Farnborough.

Once everything was sorted and moved into the main marquee AND with only half an hour before the bride was due we were done.....and it looked amazing!!

Let me share some of the stunning images by http://www.lunapics.co.uk/ of Emma and Dean's perfect country wedding no matter what the weather!

Emma getting ready at the hotel...already looking beautiful!

The colour scheme was mainly coral based around these lovely little bridesmaids dresses.

Emma's stunning dress by Britta Kjerkegaard. Emma fell in love with the design, but with a price tag of £3000 and a dress budget of £1500 she realised it was just a dream.....but after a google search and some help from the dressmarket.net, Emma found her dream dress for a bargain price of £900!! It was so meant to be!!
With a beautiful brooch detail...how could you not fall for this dress!

Emma's lovely princess Dune shoes and a flower girl circlet in beautiful coral coloured roses.

Emma looked like the perfect bride....with her birdcage veil and little shrug on by Holly Stadler on Etsy which completed the look perfectly.

The girls are ready!

The marquee looked amazing...the arch was moved inside along with the chairs and Urns.

The Urns were my most favourite out of all the floral arrangements. I chose to include lots of flowers rather than breaking it up with foliage. Emma had also said she wasn't overly keen on too much greenery.
I filled them with scented peonies, garden roses, spray roses, sweet avalanche roses, cream avalanche roses and pink heaven roses to create a very rich, but pretty design.

The main marquee set for the wedding breakfast

The sweetie table that was a great hit with the kids....and adults!

Emma decided to have some floral arrangements around the marquee too. We decided on a more modern idea for this and went with fish bowls filled with orchids and apple blossom.

Along the bar area Emma chose to use tiny mirrored square vases with a single flower head in each one.

The couple went for long tables in the end and a top table all to themselves!

Dean in his Marc Wallace suit complete with floral shirt..very handsome indeed!

Yummy urn arrangement.

Joel and his Mummy...

Beautiful!

The rain stopped enough for the kids to enjoy a pony ride on the farm and a....

ice cream or two!

Afternoon tea was then served in the smaller tent...Emma find this cute tea service on ebay.

.....anyone for cake?

http://www.vintagedays.co.uk/ provided the vintage crockery and bunting and we filled jugs and jam jars with stocks, sweet peas, roses and pale pink gerberas.

Soon it was time for the wedding breakfast...

The couple used a CD of all their favourite songs as a wedding favour for their guests.

Beautiful candelabras donned the long tables. We used pink hydrangeas, roses and ivy.

Emma also collected little silver trophies from ebay and filled them with green trick along with other silver containers filled with flowers...

I think you will agree with me that Emma and Dean make such a beautiful couple!!

The marquee looked lovely by candle light!

My most favourite image of the day taken by the very talented http://www.lunapics.co.uk/

A beautiful wedding!! I would like to say a huge thank you to Emma and Dean for letting me be a part of such an amazing event!
